B&O BeoPlay P2 Bluetooth Speaker with Touch and Shake Controls Announced

B&O Play has released the BeoPlay P2 portable Bluetooth speaker with a flattened and special design that removes most of the hardware on the speaker for a more seamless, and minimalist feel. There is only one power button on the bottom side to turn power on or off of the loudspeaker, in addition to everything else, such as volume up/down, play/pause and skip the songs are controlled by a simple tap or shake.

These controls can be customized through a Beoplay app that connects to the B&O speakers. Obviously, the idea of removing physical buttons and replacing them with touch controls, shakes, etc. is quite interesting, but it may be worth the wait. I fear most speakers will misunderstand the operation, especially shaking, … but hopefully, they will have a way to solve this.

In terms of looks, the B&O BeoPlay P2 is considered a smaller version and is also cheaper than the BeoPlay A1. So, both of them have aluminum frames and strings from leather material. The company said that P2 was developed based on the technology used on the A1 with similar mid-woofer and tweeter systems, but improved some of the previous tasteless points. The quality of the sound may also be waiting to hear how it actually sounds, but the B&O speakers have always been highly evaluated by both the sound quality and design.

Some of other information about the hardware of the P2 can be referred to as the Bluetooth 4.2 connection, and also comes with a built-in microphone so it can be used as a hands-free speakerphone, USB-C charging port, waterproof and battery life of up to 10 hours.

BeoPlay P2 Price and Availability

Most importantly, the B&O BeoPlay P2 price is $169.00 in USA and £149.00 for UK, and available in three attractive colors: Royal Blue, Sand Stone and Black.
