Sony’s latest Earbuds offer 10 hours of runtime, DSEE, and IPX4 for $100

With the WF-C500, Sony has introduced comparatively inexpensive Bluetooth wireless in ear headphones that not only want to impress with a colorful housing and a partially transparent charging case but also with a few exciting features.

Sony WF-C500 Bluetooth wireless in ear headphones

With the WF-1000XM4 (REVIEW) Sony already has extremely popular high-end Bluetooth wireless earbuds on offer, now the company is significantly polishing its range in the middle class. The new WF-C500 has a design that is based on the top model, but the Bluetooth ear buds are available in four stylish colors, including black, white, orange, and green. The charging case comes in the right color and with a partially transparent lid.

You have to do without active noise cancellation (ANC) or Sony’s high-quality LDAC codec, which is not surprising given the price. For this purpose, Sony’s Digital Sound Enhancement Engine (DSEE) is supposed to restore lost high frequencies and thus improve the sound, while an equalizer can adapt the sound to the wishes of the user via the associated app.

The Bluetooth wireless in ear headphones is IPX4 certified and therefore protected against sweat and light rain. The battery lasts a remarkable 10 hours of playback or 5 hours of telephony on one charge, the charging case stores enough energy for a full charge. The playback can be controlled via a touch-sensitive surface on the outside.

Sony WF-C500 price and availability

The Sony WF-C500 Bluetooth wireless in ear headphones will be available for a recommended retail price of $99.99. Amazon.com and Bestbuy.com are already accepting pre-orders, and according to the retailer, delivery will start on October 8th.

Recently, Sony has introduced a new neckband loud Bluetooth speaker named SRS-NB10 that is said to be perfect for those who are constantly in video conferences or phone calls at home but who do not want to wear headphones all day long.
