Amazon is expanding its portfolio of the best WiFi router for home. New additions include the affordable eero 7 Wi-Fi 7 router, which offers multi-gigabit speeds in a compact design, and the fast eero Pro 7, which offers premium Wi-Fi 7 performance for high bandwidth requirements.
Starting today, Amazon is offering two new exciting models of its eero Wi-Fi 7 routers: The eero 7 is Amazon’s cheapest WiFi 7 router, with prices starting at $169.99. In addition to wireless WiFi 7, the eero 7 supports multi-gigabit Ethernet via the network cable. The eero Pro 7, on the other hand, is a premium WiFi 7 router that achieves even faster wireless and wired speeds than its WiFi mesh predecessor, the eero Pro 6E, and complements the eero Max 7 router model.
eero 7: best wifi router for home at an affordable price
Amazon’s eero 7 is a multi-gigabit router with compact dimensions of 130 x 130 x 64 millimeters, which achieves wireless speeds of up to 1.8 Gbps as a dual-band system (2.4 and 5 GHz). Wired, the eero 7 is said to deliver up to 2.3 Gbps via two 2.5 GbE ports. According to Amazon, the eero 7 and Pro 7 support Alexa, Bluetooth LE 5.0, OpenThread, and Matter and Zigbee as controllers. A single eero 7 covers up to 190 square meters, and the three-pack covers up to 560 square meters. Power is provided by a 15 W USB-C power adapter, which is included. A CAT5e Ethernet cable is also included.
eero Pro 7: Tri-Band WiFi 7 System with High Bandwidth
For users who want to operate a large number of devices wirelessly or who want to stream multimedia content, play online, or work from home in a household with several people at the same time but do not want to treat themselves to the more expensive eero Max 7 mesh WiFi router for around 700 euros on Amazon, the Internet giant is now offering the eero Pro 7. The tri-band router supports 2.4, 5, and 6 GHz and achieves speeds of up to 3.9 Gbit/s without a cable. Speeds of up to 4.7 Gbit/s are possible via two 5 GbE ports. The Max 7 has two 10 and two 2.5 GbE ports on board.
However, the eero Pro 7, with around 147 x 180 x 79 millimeters, is significantly more compact than the larger eero Max 7 (184 x 222 x 90 mm). Regarding energy consumption, the brand new Pro 7 also only needs a USB-C power supply with 27 watts. The Max router, on the other hand, consumes 45 watts. However, Amazon has adopted the same fanless, passive thermal design of the eero Max 7 for the new eero Pro 7. A single Pro 7 model covers up to 190 square meters and 200 devices, and a pack of three covers up to 560 square meters and over 600 devices.
