Sennheiser has introduced the best soundbar for TV, a more compact alternative to the Ambeo Soundbar Max. With nine drivers, an output power of 400 watts, and support for Dolby Atmos, the Sennheiser Ambeo Soundbar Plus promises a particularly spatial sound.
The brand new Sennheiser Ambeo Soundbar Plus uses nine loudspeakers in a 7.1.4 configuration. With the help of four upwards and two laterally aligned drivers, as well as the proprietary Ambeo virtualization, the soundbar should enable a particularly spatial sound.
Inside the Sennheiser soundbar, which is around one meter long, there are two 100-millimeter woofers and seven 50-millimeter full-range speakers, each driven by a dedicated Class D amplifier. Overall, the TV sound bar has an output power of 400 watts. Sennheiser specifies a frequency range of 38 Hz to 20 kHz, but those who want more bass can add the optional Ambeo Sub, which has a 200-millimeter woofer and a 350-watt amplifier for bass down to 27 Hz.
The TV soundbar uses Ambeo OS, Sennheiser’s proprietary operating system, which enables the wireless transmission of music via Bluetooth 5.0, Apple AirPlay 2, Google Chromecast, Tidal Connect, and Spotify Connect, among other things. The associated app allows the settings of the Ambeo Soundbar Plus to be changed directly on the smartphone. The connection to the television can be made either via HDMI eARC, via Toslink, or S/PDIF.
