Garmin launches three new handheld GPS navigators with more accuracy and battery

Garmin has announced the expansion of its best handheld GPS navigator, thanks to the arrival of the new GPSMap 67, 67i, and eTrex SE. These are outdoor handheld GPS mapping units that, compared to the previous generation ones, offer longer battery life and better precision in terms of geolocation.

Garmin GPSMap 67 and GPSMap 67i represent an update of the previous generation GPSMap 66. One of the main improvements over the 66 series is the increase in battery life of up to 180 hours in standard mode and up to 840 hours in expedition mode on the GPSMap 67, while the 67i limits itself to 165 and 425 hours, respectively. This allows you to tackle longer journeys without having to recharge the device or, looking at it from another point of view, subject the navigator to fewer recharges, thus preserving autonomy over time.

Both Series 67 best handheld GPS navigator models offer a 3-inch color display designed to be readable in sunlight and include access to Garmin’s preloaded TopoActive cartography, as well as the ability to use the display to view satellite imagery. The handheld GPS tracker devices also feature multi-band GNSS support for covering difficult areas, a three-axis compass, and a barometric altimeter.

The best handheld GPS for mapping GPSMap 67 series is compatible with Garmin Outdoor Maps Plus premium cartography subscription, which was previously only available with the more expensive Montana 700 handhelds. The distinguishing feature of the GPSMap 67i has integrated InReach technology that enables SOS functionality, two-way messaging, and localization via the global Iridium satellite network.

Garmin has also added a more affordable proposition to its lineup, namely the new eTrex SE. It features multi-GNSS, a high-contrast 2.2-inch display, a digital compass, and rugged construction, designed to withstand the elements and can therefore be used to view waypoints and track your position during the explorations.
