The Asus TUF Gaming VG279Q3A released last year has a sister model without ELMB sync. It’s called TUF Gaming VG279Q3R and stands out as the best Full HD gaming monitor available for under $200.
The new monitor has a 27-inch Fast IPS panel with Full HD resolution (1920 x 1080 pixels), 180 Hz refresh rate, and 1 ms fast gray change. The color depth is 8 bits, the typical brightness is 250 cd/m², the contrast ratio is 1000:1, and the power consumption is less than 21 watts. The sRGB color space is supposedly covered 100 percent.
There is no mention of HDR support, but there is FreeSync technology and a separate mode to combat motion blur (ELMB). Two internal 2-watt speakers are part of the equipment, as is variable overdrive, a black stabilizer, an FPS display, and a crosshair overlay.
