The Taiwanese manufacturer Asus has unveiled what could be considered the best 1080p HDR gaming monitor under $200: the ROG Strix XG259CS. Notably, it features a 24.5-inch Fast IPS panel with Full HD resolution (1920 x 1080 pixels). Additionally, the monitor boasts a 180 Hz refresh rate, further enhancing its appeal. Furthermore, this PS5 HDR monitor offers a 1 ms gray-to-gray response time, 110% sRGB color gamut, typical brightness of 400 cd/m², 8-bit color depth, HDR10 support, and a 1000:1 contrast ratio.
The new Asus ELMB Sync monitor combines FreeSync anti-tearing technology with a motion blur reduction mode. Variable Overdrive 2.0 and AI-supported GamePlus features, such as a black stabilizer and a crosshair overlay, are also available. The interface selection includes DisplayPort 1.4, HDMI 2.0, USB-C (with DP mode), and a headphone output, with the full 180 Hz possible on all graphic signal inputs.
The AI monitor supports tilt, swivel, height adjustment, and pivot functions. It also includes a 100 x 100 mm VESA mount, a blue light filter, and a flicker-free backlight.
