Bang & Olufsen Beoplay HX Wireless Headphones: 35 hours of Battery life with Active Noise Canceling

Bang & Olufsen has unveiled its premium Beoplay HX wireless noise reduction headphones. The headset supports Active Noise Cancellation (ANC) technology and has the ability to work offline for up to 35 hours. When the ANC function is off, the device can operate on a single charge for up to 40 hours.

In comparison, the AirPods Max (REVIEW) ($549 on Amazon) wireless sound cancelling headphones are rated for just 20 hours of battery life with ANC enabled, while the Sony WH-1000XM4 ($278 on Amazon) can last up to 30 hours of battery life. The Sennheiser Momentum 3 Wireless ($323 on Amazon) and Shure Aonic 50 ($296 on Amazon) headphones have an even shorter battery life – 16 and 20 hours, respectively.

Beoplay HX noise reduction headphones are equipped with 40mm neodymium-magnet drivers. The four-microphone array uses beamforming to improve communication quality when used as a headset. The Beoplay HX ear cushions are made of sheep leather, filled with memory foam inside, while the headband is covered with cow leather and knitted fabric. The cup body is made of recycled plastic and the lever sliders are made of aluminum.

Beoplay HX Bluetooth noise cancelling headphones specifications include a USB-C port for charging, a 3.5mm jack for wired connectivity. There are mechanical controls on the left and right ear cups, and there are also touch controls on the right side. The device supports Bluetooth 5.1 wireless protocol and aptX Adaptive next-generation dynamically configurable audio codec, in addition to AAC and SBC. Google Fast Pair and Microsoft Swift Pair are used to quickly pair with the respective platforms. Unlike AirPods Max, the headset comes with a 3.5mm cable.

Price and availability

The Beoplay HX active noise cancelling headphones are currently available in black color on Amazon.com for $499. A white color version will hit the market at the end of April, and a white-brown model will start selling in May.

Last month, Bang & Olufsen has introduced the Beosound Level multiroom wireless portable speaker. A feature of the premium WiFi speaker is the ability to be placed on the wall both inside and outside the room and is priced at $1,499. Also, the unit received a capacious battery, an advanced set of B&O sound system, and protection from water and dust.
