Asus has listed a new 27-inch 1080p gaming monitor called the ROG Strix XG279CNS on its website. It’s part of the ROG Strix line and measures 27 inches diagonally. The Fast IPS device boasts Full HD resolution (1920 x 1080 pixels), a maximum refresh rate of 380 Hz, and is DisplayHDR 400 certified. In addition to a 1 ms grayscale, it promises 400 cd/m² typical brightness, 8-bit color depth, 20 watts of power consumption, and 110 percent sRGB.
Since it’s an ELMB sync model, FreeSync Premium and G-Sync-compatible Adaptive Sync can be combined with a motion blur reduction mode. The new 1080p 27-inch monitor includes Variable Overdrive 2.0, a dynamic crosshair overlay, and an AI-assisted black stabilizer. However, it lacks integrated speakers.
Regarding connections, HDMI 2.1, DisplayPort 1.4, USB-C (with DisplayPort), and a headphone jack are available. While the DisplayPort is supposed to support a full 380 Hz, the HDMI port, according to the specs, has a maximum of 360 Hz. Consequently, version 2.1 is nowhere near the maximum bandwidth of 48 Gbps.
The ergonomics are generous, with tilt, swivel, height adjustment (120 mm), pivot, VESA mounting (100 x 100 mm), blue light filtering, and flicker-free backlighting.

The ROG Strix XG279CNS 27-inch 1080p gaming monitor is finally available for purchase on Amazon for $349.

Recently, Asus also released the ROG Swift OLED PG27UCDM 4K gaming monitor. It features a 26.5-inch fourth-generation QD-OLED, a 240 Hz refresh rate, and a DisplayHDR True Black 400, which is priced at $1,094.51 or £1,379.85.
