When it comes to graphics technology, we cannot fail to mention that the industry is always presenting new items that meet all kinds of consumer needs due to its constant expansion. This is so with video cards and now also with “eGPU” or external graphics.
In order to add more graphics power to laptops or notebooks, these devices have become more and more popular over the years. And to follow this trend Asus has announced the XG Station Pro.
Asus already has the ROG XG Station 2 that was focused on a gamer, however, now the same focus on consumers that aim to use more graphics processing in work activities.
The Asus XG Station Pro has an aluminum housing and measures 4.3 inches wide by 14.8 inches long. In addition, it has the ability to support the latest NVIDIA GeForce GTX 10 series and AMD Radeon RX Vega graphics cards on its 40Gbps Thunderbolt 3 port.
For cooling the XG Station Pro has two 120mm (PWM) cooling fans that work satisfactorily. And to finish, the device has an additional USB-type C port, while on the back we find an additional USB 3.1 Gen 2 Type-C that can recharge devices up to 15 Watts, at least according to the data provided by the manufacturer. It has twisted cables and RGB LEDs compatible with ASUS Aura Sync technology.
Asus said that its new eGPU will arrive in the first quarter of 2018 at a cost of $329.00, a 1.5-meter Thunderbolt 3 cable bundled, while compatibility is guaranteed for Windows (Nvidia and AMD) and macOS Sierra (AMD GPU only). So, do you like XG Station Pro?
