Asus has announced two new gaming laptops TUF FX705 and TUF FX505, two products unveiled at the last Computex that are part of the TUF line, famous for its high durability and weather resistance.
The TUF is a brand that usually identifies Asus motherboards, built with special criteria that meet military standards. According to the company, these new gaming laptops comply with the MIL-STD-810G standard, resulting twice as resistant to accidental falls and being able to operate in full stability even in adverse weather conditions: humidity, extreme temperatures and prolonged exposure to the sun.
Basically, the two laptops are identical, the Asus TUF FX705 features a 17.3-inch display, while the younger one TUF FX505 comes with a 15.6-inch display. Like other Asus laptops, even the new TUF series is also configurable: the company opts for 8th gen Intel Core processors, in detail Core i5-8300H or Core i7-8750H, while the graphics department provides a choice between NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1050 GPUs, GTX 1050 Ti and GTX 1060.
On the memory side, we find two SODIMM DDR4 slots with a maximum capacity of 32GB (2666 MHz), while the storage segment offers different options with hard drives (up to 1TB) and SSD PCIe gen 3.0 (up to 512GB). The common features of the two ASUS TUF laptops are the 144Hz 1080p IPS ‘NanoEdge” display (optional), the backlit gaming keyboard with proprietary HyperStrike technology, and the dual fan HyperCool cooling system.
Asus TUF FX505 will be available in 4 variants and prices starting from $699 (Core i5-8300H, 8GB RAM, GTX 1050, 60 Hz display and 1TB HDD. No pricing details for the Asus TUF FX705 yet.
