With the Zephyrus M16, Asus has presented one of its most exciting gaming notebooks to date, because the new Asus ROG laptop not only has decent performance in a slim case, but also an exciting display and an integrated webcam – unusual for Zephyrus laptops.
The brand new Asus ROG Zephyrus M16 is said to be the first gaming notebook in the world to have a 165 Hz 16-inch display – but the Asus M16 has to share this honor with the Lenovo Legion 5i Pro and Legion 7i. Nevertheless, the display promises a first-class gaming experience thanks to a response time of only 3 milliseconds and a decent brightness of 500 nits, and the 16:10 aspect ratio makes the notebook ideal for production applications.
Asus speaks of a screen-to-body ratio of 94 percent and a WQHD resolution, so the screen has 2,560 x 1,600 pixels. The casing is thin mere 19.9 mm and 1.9 kg lightweight, yet Asus installed brand new Intel Tiger Lake H-processors up to the Core i9-11900H with eight cores and 16 threads and a maximum of an Nvidia GeForce 3070 RTX.
The battery has a decent 90 Wh capacity, but whether a long runtime can be achieved with it depends above all on how efficiently Intel’s new processors work. There is also up to 32 GB DDR4-3,200 RAM and a PCIe 4.0 M.2 SSD with a maximum capacity of 2 TB. The ROG M16 offers one Thunderbolt 4, one USB-C, two USB-A 3.2 Gen 2, one HDMI 2.0b, Ethernet, a headphone jack, and a MicroSD card reader. Also exciting: Asus installed six speakers and a keyboard with RGB lighting.
