As part of the Gamescom trade fair, Taiwanese manufacturer Asus unveiled the ROG Strix OLED XG27ACDNG. An official product page for the 26.5-inch QD-OLED screen has been launched, providing some new details. We want to take a closer look at the device below.
The built-in QD-OLED panel is semi-glossy, has a 2560 x 1440 pixels (WQHD) resolution at up to 360 Hz, and is certified according to DisplayHDR True Black 400. An optimized subpixel layout should ensure improved text display. The color depth of the new 1440p high refresh rate monitor is 10 bits, the response time is 0.03 ms (gray to gray), the contrast ratio is 1,500,000:1, and the brightness is 250 cd/m² (SDR, 100 percent APL), 450 cd/m² (SDR, max.) or 1000 cd/m² (HDR, 3 percent APL).
To enhance the experience with small APL windows, a feature called “Dynamic Brightness Boost” is specifically designed to increase brightness. Additionally, FreeSync Premium Pro and G-Sync-compatible Adaptive Sync are available as effective anti-tearing measures. Alternatively, users can opt for a mode to reduce motion blur, known as ELMB. Furthermore, a fanless custom heatsink, combined with various OLED Care+ mechanisms, works to significantly minimize the risk of burn-in for the QD-OLED panel.
The Asus ROG Strix OLED XG27ACDNG also leaves nothing to be desired regarding ergonomics and features tilt, rotation, height adjustment (120 mm), pivot, VESA mount (100 x 100 mm), and blue light filtering. GamePlus features include a crosshair overlay, an FPS display, and a dynamic black stabilizer.
Asus ROG Strix OLED XG27ACDNG price and availability
The new 1440p monitor with G-Sync, backed by a three-year warranty, is listed on Amazon for $699.99. Meanwhile, UK users may need to pay up to £749.
The best 27-inch OLED monitor also offers 135 percent sRGB, 99 percent DCI-P3, and a Delta-E value of less than 2. On the interface side, there are two HDMI 2.1 inputs, a DisplayPort 1.4 (DSC), a USB 3.2 hub (Gen 1), a headphone output, and USB-C with DisplayPort alternate mode and 90 watts PD. WQHD at 360 Hz should be possible on all graphic signal inputs. A KVM switch and a picture-in-picture mode are also available.
