Asus has presented two new professional laptops, both of which are available with a 16-inch 4K OLED display and optionally with one of the fastest AMD Ryzen 5000 or Intel Tiger Lake-H processors. Asus ProArt StudioBook 16 OLED and ProArt StudioBook Pro 16 OLED also come with some innovative features, such as a trackpad with stylus support and the “Asus Dial”.
Asus ProArt StudioBook 16 OLED and the ProArt StudioBook Pro 16 Pro OLED, two of the most exciting notebooks for creative professionals to date, because both have a 16-inch OLED panel in 16:10 format with a resolution of 3840 x 2,400 pixels and a typical brightness of 400 nits, which is certified for VESA DisplayHDR TrueBlack 500, but Asus also offers cheaper models with 1,600p IPS panels.
Both Asus StudioBook notebooks have several exciting features that are hard to find on a laptop, including a particularly large trackpad with stylus support so that it can be used as a small drawing tablet. The “Asus Dial” is a small wheel above the trackpad that can be used to control various features in Adobe Photoshop, Lightroom, After Effects, and Premiere. High-quality Harman Kardon speakers and an ESS Saber DAC are standard equipment, as is an HD webcam with Windows Hello support and a privacy shutter.
The two devices differ mainly in the chips: The ProArt Studiobook 16 OLED is optionally available with an Intel Core i9-11900H or an AMD Ryzen 9 5900HX, with the AMD model there is a maximum of one GeForce RTX 3070, with the Intel model, however a GeForce RTX 3060. The Pro model, on the other hand, is optionally available with a Ryzen 9 5900HX in combination with an Nvidia RTX A2000 or with an Intel Xeon W-11955M with an Nvidia RTX A5000.
PCIe 4.0 and Thunderbolt 4 are only available in combination with an Intel processor, in each case up to two M.2 SSDs and a maximum of 64 GB DDR4-3.200 RAM are installed. Asus installs two USB-Cs, two USB-A, HDMI 2.1, Ethernet, AUX, and an SD Express card reader. The 19.6 millimeters thin, 2.4 kilograms lightweight notebooks have a 90 Wh battery.
