With the PN80, Asus is offering the new best mini PC that is equipped with a powerful Intel processor. 2.5 Gbit Ethernet, support for up to four displays and four mass storage devices promise versatile usability.
With the PN80, Asus is expanding its portfolio of small computer PCs with a model based on the Intel Core i7-11700B. The processor is equipped with eight cores and supports the simultaneous processing of 16 threads thanks to Hyperthreading, the maximum clock frequency is estimated at 4.8 GHz. Depending on the selected equipment variant, the main memory measures up to 32 gigabytes.
Four mass storage devices can be installed in the 20 x 20 x 6-centimeter housing. The installation of two 2.5-inch hard drives or SSDs is provided in addition to the two M.2 2280 SSDs. An M.2 2280 SSD can be connected via four PCIe Gen 4 lanes. According to Asus, the best mini PC system can also be easily expanded later and can be opened by loosening three screws.
An Intel AX 201 WiFi 6 module with Bluetooth support is installed, as well as a LAN connection with a maximum data transfer rate of 2.5 Gbit/s. The Asus mini PC PN80, which weighs only 2.5 kilograms with two hard drives, has numerous modern connections, such as a USB 3.2 Gen 2 port in type C format installed on the front, as well as a type-A port.
Four more USB 3.2 Gen 2 ports in Type A format are available on the back, as well as two Thunderbolt 4 ports and one HDMI port. Recently, Asus has made available the PN63-S1 0.9-liter mini desktop computer. Asus PN63-S1 price starts at $329 with a Core i3-1115G4 processor and jumps to $619 for the more powerful Core i7-11370H. All prices are for mini PCs with no storage or RAM.
