The new, ultra-compact Asus Chromebox 4 Mini Desktop Computer is equipped with a 10th generation Intel Core processor and has modern connections.
Small computer PCs are available in various designs, but in many cases, they are equipped with Windows or a Linux variant. Devices based on Chrome OS are a more or less notable exception. Chrome OS is an alternative if, in particular, office tasks are to be carried out with a device and a strong Google integration is not an obstacle.
Asus has now presented a new, compact Mini Desktop Computer with Chrome OS. The Asus Chrome box 4 is equipped with an Intel Core processor, specifically, users can choose between the Intel Core i7-10510U , Core i5-10210U , Core i3-10110U, and Intel Celeron 5205U. Asus does without a dedicated GPU, as is usual for Chrome OS devices.
The main memory measures four or eight gigabytes, the internal eMMC memory, depending on the model variant selected, 32 or 64 gigabytes. There is also an M.2 SSD with a capacity of 128 or 256 gigabytes. The SSD is connected via SATA and not via PCIe. Two HDMI connections are available for image output, plus a USB Type C port that can act as a DisplayPort. Four USB 3.1 Gen 2 ports allow the high-performance connection of external storage media.
Gigabit Ethernet is supported as well as WiFi 802.11ax, plus, as usual, Bluetooth 5.0. A memory card slot is installed, the same applies to a jack plug.

Asus Chromebox 4 pricing starts from $489 for the basic model with i3 CPU, 8GB RAM, and 128GB SSD; and the top model with i7 CPU, 16GB RAM, and 256GB SSD cost $899. New small computers are now available to pre-order on Bhphotovideo.com and shipping will start from April this year.
