Asus has announced the release of the Chromebook Flip C436 2-in-1 laptop. The New Asus Chromebook features a frameless NanoEdge touch screen with a transformable form factor. Asus flip convertible laptop is designed with a magnesium alloy chassis and received the Intel’s Project Athena innovation program and co-engineered for mobile performance.
Two configurations will be available – C436FA-DS388T and C436FA-DS599T-W. According to the manufacturer, Asus Chromebook Flip C436 will use the Intel Core i5-10210U processor, a 14-inch four-sided NanoEdge touch display with 4.9mm slim bezel and 85% screen-to-body ratio. The amount of RAM LPDDR3-2133 is 8 GB or 16 GB, the SSD is up to 512GB M.2 SSD.
The C436 also features a fingerprint sensor for high security, USI stylus support for open pen input, and a wide variety of ports for peripheral options. It is fully convertible, can be used in a clamshell configuration for a more traditional workflow, standing up like a tent for better viewing angles, or closed over on itself in tablet mode to use with a USI-compatible stylus, which supports up to 4,096 levels of pressure.
The Chromebook Asus equipment mentioned includes Dual-band Wi-Fi 6 (802.11ax) and Bluetooth 5.0 wireless connectivity, an HD camera, two USB 3.2 Gen 1 Type-C ports, a micro SD card slot with a capacity of up to 2 TB and an audio jack. Harman Kardon certified speaker and microphone are integrated into the Asus C436. A Chromebook packs 42WHr Li-Polymer 3cell battery can deliver up to 12 hours of runtime as you browse the web, write emails, or work in a spreadsheet.
New Asus Chromebook also offers a full-size backlit keyboard with an extended 1.2mm of travel on each keystroke. The dimensions are 319.5 x 205.3 x 13.76 mm, weighs 1.1 kg, and running Chrome OS out of the box.
