Chinese optics maker AstrHori (SZ) Tech has launched the AstrHori 6.5mm F2 APS-C fisheye ultra-wide-angle lens, compatible with Sony E, Fujifilm X, Nikon Z, Canon RF, and Micro Four Third mount cameras. This lens is built for photographers who want to push creative boundaries. It opens up new possibilities in fish eye lens photography, making it a versatile tool for portraits, architectural shots, and experimental compositions.
The optical design comprises six elements combined into five groups, including four special elements: low-dispersion and high-refractive.
The 192° field of view promises to “go beyond the usual wide-angle lens, creating unique perspectives and circular frames.” At the same time, the minimum shooting distance of 0.2m will allow you to create interesting shots from mundane scenes. “In one shot, city skylines are compressed into domed bubbles, and the Milky Way is stretched into a cosmic vortex. Like other lenses from this manufacturer, the AstrHori 6.5mm F2 Fisheye has a robust metal body. Due to the convex front lens, there is no thread for a filter, and it cannot be installed from the bayonet side.
