Astelll&Kern has introduced the latest portable player called A&ultima SP2000 at High-End 2019 Munich. Its new flagship player has been improved in comparison to previous SP1000, especially the first music player. The world first uses Dual AK4499EQ DAC.

A&ultima products will have two versions of Stainless Steel and Copper, priced at $3500. Astell&Kern A&ultima SP2000 is the company’s first music player to use the latest Asahi Kasei Microdevice DAC chips, AKM AK4499EQ running in Dual Mono mode. Thanks to this design, the SP200 has a much wider soundstage and clearer separation than the previous model of the music player SP1000.

The SP2000 music player is also the first music player designed with completely separate and balanced output unbalanced output circuits. This design makes the player’s output power significantly improved compared to the previous 6Vrms for Balanced output 2.5mm port and 3Vrms for an Unbalanced port for users to have the best experience on the player. The SP2000 player will support PCM format up to 32-bit / 768KHz and Native DSD to DSD512. Inside this player uses a powerful eight-core CPU chip and a 5-inch touch screen. The internal storage is also upgraded to 512GB twice as much as the previous Astell&Kern music players. SP2000 will also support MQA decoding to enable users to keep up with the current music streaming trend. In addition, it will support dual-band WiFi with a stereo antenna to help music listeners stream music with high quality.

The SP2000 model will also have the same version of Stainless Steel and Copper as the previous SP1000, but this SP2000 model will have a newly designed volume wheel and a power button that gives a sense of luxury to every detail.

NativeDSD Music specially produced the “NativeDSD Presents: 5 Tracks in DSD 512” sampler to demo on the SP2000 at High End Munich. NativeDSD.com provides listeners a top-quality resource for DSD, DXD and Analog-to-DSD Music in Stereo & Multichannel channel configurations, directly from record labels and engineers making these recordings. The collaboration between NativeDSD and Astell&Kern shows the common goal of both companies to help users feel the music closest to reality.

Astell&Kern A&ultima SP2000 music player will be available in July this year.
