The Sonos Arc Ultra aims to redefine the soundbar market with bold claims from Sonos. As the new flagship in the lineup, it introduces cutting-edge “Sound Motion” woofer technology and a 14-driver setup designed for immersive, spatial sound.
Replacing the previous Arc model, the Arc Ultra shares a similar appearance but boasts a completely re-engineered interior. The standout feature is its innovative “Sound Motion” woofer, which Sonos describes as a groundbreaking advancement in sound technology over the past century. According to Sonos, the bass performance is now twice as powerful compared to the original Arc. However, specific performance metrics remain undisclosed.
The Arc Ultra supports Dolby Atmos and DTS, using upward- and side-firing drivers to deliver expansive, three-dimensional sound. A speech enhancement feature further enhances dialogue clarity. Additionally, users can wirelessly stream sound directly to Sonos Ace headphones with a single button press.
With Trueplay, the Arc Ultra adapts sound to the acoustics of your living space automatically. Integrated microphones allow voice control but can be disabled using a privacy slider on the back. The Sonos app provides further customization through an equalizer, while the soundbar offers wireless streaming via Bluetooth, Apple AirPlay 2, or the Sonos app itself.
