According to DigiTimes, Apple is expected to launch its 3rd generation AirPods later this year. This is quite surprising because Apple has just launched its next-generation AirPods 2 (review) in late March. The new AirPods 3 are expected to be equipped with active noise-cancelling (ANC) – a feature that probably many Apple customers expect.
AirPods 3 will still be assembled by two Inventec factories of Taiwan and Luxshare Precision of China. According to statistics, Apple has now delivered 35 million AirPods in 2018, accounting for 75% of the global market share and completely overwhelming compared to other brand products. The launch of AirPods 3 with new features such as active noise-canceling, in addition to being equipped with water resistance, health monitoring will help Apple increase its product competitiveness further.
However, the challenge here is that if more features are equipped, surely AirPods 3 will have a much more complicated composition. At the same time, the problem of battery life is also a matter of concern. Currently, Apple is said to be working hard to build assembly facilities to make it available later this year.
