Apple iPhone XS and XS Max With OLED HDR Displays, 12MP Dual Rear Camera, A12 Bionic SoC Launched

Along with the iPhone XR, the company also announced the new Apple iPhone XS and XS Max smartphones. Both the handsets have a Super Retina HDR displays with support for Dolby Vision and HDR 10, 120Hz touch-sensing as well as Face ID for unlocking.

The iPhone XS price in USA starts from $999 and the iPhone XS Max start at $1,099 for the 64GB storage options. Both handsets will be available in more than 30 countries and territories from September 21st with pre-orders starting tomorrow, September 14th. The handset comes in Gold, silver and Space Gray color options.

The Apple iPhone XS features a 5.8-inch (2436 x 1125 pixels) OLED 458ppi Super Retina HDR display, while the Apple iPhone XS Max comes with a 6.5-inch (2688 x 1245 pixels) OLED 458ppi Super Retina HDR display and both with the 1,000,000:1 contrast ratio and 3D Touch.

Both the devices are powered by new Apple A12 Bionic chip based on 7nm platform with 6-core CPU, two performance cores promises 15% fast performance and 40% lower power, and 4 efficiency cores will offer up to 50% lower power compared to A11 Bionic. It has 6.9 billion transistors, can perform 5 trillion operations per second, up from 600 billion in A11.

Both devices have an Aluminum and Glass Design, and is splash- and water-resistant, with IP68 ratings. Both are powered by a Six-core A12 Bionic 64-bit 7nm processor with four-core GPU, M12 motion co-processor coupled with 64GB, 128GB, 256GB of inbuilt storage options.

On the camera front, the both the iPhone XS and XS Max are flaunting a 12MP wide-angle (f/1.8) and telephoto (f/2.4) cameras, Dual optical image stabilization, Optical zoom; Six-element lens, Quad-LED True Tone flash, 4K video recording at 60 fps, Slo-mo 1080p at 240 fps. For selfie, there is a 7-megapixel front-facing camera with f/2.2 aperture, 1080p video recording, and Retina Flash.

The iPhone XR has a TrueDepth camera for FaceID facial recognition, along with the Stereo speakers, and Four microphones. These have LTE Advanced with Dual SIM support (via eSIM), and has wireless charging as well. The handset runs on iOS 12 and packs lithium-ion battery with Qi wireless charging, fast charging, and up to 15 hours of internet usage for the iPhone XS and up to 13 hours for the iPhone XS Max.

For connectivity includes 4G VoLTE, 3G, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n/ac with MIMO, GPS, GLONASS, Bluetooth 5.0, NFC with reader mode. The XS measures 143.6×70.9×7.7 mm and weighs 177 grams, while the XS Max measures 157.5×77.4×7.7 mm and weighs 208 grams.
