Apple unveils the Mac Studio with M1 Ultra, 64 GPU cores, 128GB RAM, and a silent cooling system

Along with the new iPad Air 5, Apple has also unveiled the new Mac Studio, an extremely powerful and compact Apple desktop computers that outshine the performance of the 16-inch MacBook Pro with a brand new Apple M1 Ultra. With two large fans, the new Apple PC computers should work almost silently.

At first glance, the Mac Studio looks like a much larger version of the Mac Mini, but Apple has fundamentally redesigned the device, taking user needs into account. The new Apple Mac desktop offers two USB-C ports and an SD card reader on the front, on the back, there are four Thunderbolt ports (USB-C), Ethernet, HDMI, two USB-A, and a headphone jack.

The brand new Apple M1 Ultra is a combination of two Apple M1 Max that are connected directly to each other via “UltraFusion” with a bandwidth of 2.5 TB/s. It allows Apple to practically double the performance of the M1 Max because the M1 Ultra offers 16 performance cores, 4 efficiency cores, 64 GPU cores, and up to 128 GB of RAM with a bandwidth of 800 GB/s. With 117 billion transistors, the M1 Ultra offers seven times more than the regular Apple M1.

Compared to the Mac Pro with an Intel Xeon processor with 28 processor cores, the Mac Studio is said to offer 60 percent faster processor performance, and the graphics performance of the Apple M1 Ultra offers 80 percent better performance than the AMD Radeon Pro W6900X of the Mac Pro, according to Apple. Apple promises 3.4 times better performance compared to the fastest iMac to date. Apple installs a maximum 8 TB SSD with a speed of 7.4 GB/s.

The Mac Studio is available to pre-order now through Bhphotovideo.com and Adorama.com websites, with shipping starting March 18th, 2022. The base model with Apple M1 Max with 10 CPU and 24 GPU cores, 32 GB RAM, and 512 GB SSD storage costs $2,199.

A model with Apple M1 Ultra with 20 CPU and 48 GPU cores, 64 GB memory, and 1 TB SSD cost $2,799. As usual, other specifications can be configured – from the cheapest M1 Max to the most expensive M1 Ultra.
