The Taiwanese company AOC, a subsidiary of the Chinese TPV Technology group, has released two new Agon gaming monitors at affordable prices in the UK. The AOC 24G4X (23.8 inches) and 27G4X (27 inches) are almost identical except for the different sizes, and each has an IPS panel with Full HD resolution (1920 x 1080 pixels), 180 Hz refresh rate, and 1 ms response time (gray to gray).

The brand new AOC Agon Gaming 24G4XE and the Agon Gaming 27G4XE monitors differ primarily in screen size, boasting 23.8 inches and 27 inches, respectively. Furthermore, both Agon gaming monitors feature a simple yet sleek design, with relatively narrow borders on three sides, enhancing the visual appeal. Additionally, they come equipped with easily accessible buttons located at the bottom edge, also prominently labeled on the front. This subtle but clever design choice allows you to quickly and effortlessly switch between inputs without any hassle.
The highlight of the equipment is the frame rate of 180 Hz, which can be reduced to 48 Hz using VRR to avoid tearing. This should enable a response time of one millisecond (gray to gray). The panels can display the DCI-P3 color space at more than 93 percent, and sRGB at least 128 percent. To make the aggressive price possible, AOC relies on panels that achieve a resolution of just 1,920 x 1,080 pixels.
The LED backlight offers a brightness of 300 nits and a 1,000:1 contrast ratio with a matte screen surface. The screens support HDR10, but due to the limited peak brightness, a particularly convincing HDR display is not to be expected. They have two HDMI 2.0 inputs, one DisplayPort 1.4, a 3.5 mm headphone jack, and 2 x 2-watt stereo speakers.
