Google has just announced that now the user will be able to use Android Auto on that cars are normally not integrated his platform, does not need any extra hardware or other dock, but via their smartphones.
Google said that the Android Auto will receive a new update that will roll out in the next couple of months, including Ok Google, and wireless connectivity with the car’s built in Wi-Fi system. New updated app for Android phones will come with a simple and clear interface, and easy to control while driving. The ambition of the Google cars does not stop at Android Auto. Mr. Patrick Brady, chief engineer of Android Auto, said that ” “Android wasn’t historically built to be an embedded infotainment platform. It was really built for phones,” also adds, Google is able to provide a “turn-key platform” for turning a car into a connected car. This pits Google head-to-head against products like BlackBerry’s QNX, which is used by a number of major automakers deploying next-gen infotainment systems.
Google Android Auto, of course will also be open source so the most of the automaker can customize it in his own way. As of now we don’t know what cars have Android Auto and which automakers will be using Android N to run their cars. At this point Brady also mentioned that “We’re working with a bunch of car partners, and we hope to bring it to market as soon as possible.”
