AMD has introduced the consumer version of the Radeon RX 6400 best budget graphics card. Despite its entry-level status, the company claims it can handle popular games without additional power and will fit even in mini-ITX class miniature builds.
Most OEM versions of the RX 6400 are presented in a low-profile version and occupy one expansion slot, which allows them to be installed in compact cases. The “heart” of the best budget GPU was the 6-nm Navi 24 GPU based on the RDNA 2 architecture with 12 computing units (768 stream processors). The nominal clock frequency of the GPU is 2039 MHz, the maximum is 2321 MHz.
The AMD Radeon RX 6400 is equipped with 4 GB GDDR6 (1750 MHz, 14 Gb/s) 64-bit bus and 112 GB/s bandwidth. The power consumption of the good GPU does not exceed 53 W, thanks to which it does without an additional power connector. The declared performance of the novelty in calculations with single-precision (FP32) is 3.56 Tflops.
The cheap GPU is not positioned as an advanced gaming solution, but, according to the results of the first tests, it can deliver more than 60 fps in many modern titles at 1080p resolution. According to AMD promotional materials, the performance of the best budget graphics card model is comparable to the NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1650 with better power efficiency.
