Samsung USA is reportedly offering a heavy discount on the Gear VR with Controller headset via Amazon store. New Samsung Gear VR 2017 headset at store listed at $99.99, offering $30 discount on its launched price.
The curved design of the Gear VR controller offers users with convenient one-hand control and provides better motion interaction with minimised head movement. There’s Home, Back, and Volume buttons in the front, and a clickable trackpad as well. At the back, there is a trigger button, and on board sensors include an accelerometer, gyroscope, and magnetic sensor. The touchpad on the motion controller provides quicker selection and interaction within VR apps. The controller is powered by two AAA batteries that claims to last up to 40 days with two hours of daily use.
New Samsung Gear VR 2017 headset is compatible with Galaxy S7, S7 edge, Note5, S6 edge+, S6, S6 edge, S6 edge+, Galaxy S8, and S8+. It offers 42mm lenses with 101-degree FOV (Field of View) and “advanced distortion correction technology” to minimize users’ motion sickness. The Samsung Gear VR with Controller will support both Micro-USB and USB Type-C port with a converter in-box. Further, the new Gear VR comes with a strap on the headset that allows it to hold the controller when it is not being used.
