Amazon Introduces Echo Sub Subwoofer, Echo Link and Echo Link Amp Stereo Amplifiers

Amazon has released Echo Sub, Echo Link and Echo Link Amp at the recent Alexa event. This is a set of three completely new products launched by Amazon to better complement their home audio system and a strong blow for Sonos.

Echo Sub

The Echo Sub is the first wireless Echo subwoofer offering thumping 100W deep bass sound through a 6″ woofer when listening to music on their existing or new Echo devices. You can connect it to compatible Echo devices to create a 1.1 or 2.1 pairing for stereo sound. Equalizer feature lets you adjust the bass, mid-range, and treble of the pairing simply by using your voice. Echo Sub is not optimized for other Echo Dot (2nd Gen), Echo Spot or Alexa-enabled devices and does not support video playback, says Amazon.

Echo Sub is also wrapped around the fabric to match your room’s decor, of course, has a wireless design, so you just need to connect it to an Echo speaker with the Alexa App that’s ready to use, similar to most other Alexa-enabled products.

It should be noted that Echo Sub’s stereo-pairing feature is completely different from Alexa’s current Grouping capabilities. Stereo-pairing will turn the Echo Sub and two Echo speakers in a 2.1 system, while the Group feature simply divides the speakers into different groups (for multi-room needs, for example).

Echo Sub price is $129.99, is available for pre-order on Amazon and ships from October 11th, 2018.

Echo echo amp

Amazon also launched Echo Link Amp and Echo Link. Echo Link Amp has a built-in 60W internal amplifier for stereo speakers. Echo Link has been priced at $199.99 and Echo Link costs $299.99. Both of these products have no microphone and will be controlled through an Alexa voice assistant, such as Echo Dot speakers.
