Amazon’s first Smart TVs offer Fire TV and Alexa up to 75 inches

With the Fire TV Omni and Fire TV 4 series, Amazon has introduced its first smart TVs, which not only bear the Amazon logo, they also offer many technologies that are already familiar from the company’s smart speakers and Fire TV sticks.

Amazon Fire TV Omni and Fire TV 4 series

While Amazon has been offering “Fire TV Edition” smart TVs from other manufacturers for years, the company has now introduced its first TVs that are actually sold under the Amazon brand. The top model is called Fire TV Omni, this is available with a diagonal of 43 inches to 75 inches, whereby only the two largest models support Dolby Vision, the rest have to be content with HDR10.

Probably the most interesting features are the Fire TV software, which is already known from the Fire TV Stick 4K, as well as far-field microphones, which make it possible to use Alexa without having to use remote control. Alexa is available even when the TV is turned off, so the Fire TV Omni can practically replace an Echo speaker. Voice commands can not only be used to find content but also to control the volume or brightness of the TV or to switch inputs.

Pricing and availability

Both the Fire TV Omni and Fire TV 4 series are already up for pre-order via Amazon.com and shipping starts from October 27, 2021. Amazon Fire TV Omni pricing starts from $409.99 for the 43-inch variant, the 50-inch model costs $509.99, $559.99 for 55-inch, $829.99 for the 65-inch, and larger 75-inch model cost $1,099.99.

Coming to the Amazon Fire TV 4 series pricing starts from $369.99 for a 43-inch variant, $469.99 for the 50-inch, and $519.99 for the 55-inch variant.

Recently, Toshiba has also released a series of Smart Fire TV Edition with built-in Fire TV functionality. 4K UHD TV models come with 43-inch (43C350KU C350 Series) and 50-inch (50C350KU C350 Series) screens at the moment, but in the future, 55-, 65- and 75-inch versions of TVs will go on sale.
