Dell’s Alienware brand announced the new AW2725Q, DP 1.4 4K 240Hz gaming monitor (not to be confused with the dual-Hz Alienware AW2725QF) during the CES trade show in Las Vegas. The QD-OLED monitor measures 26.7 inches diagonally and boasts a pixel density of 166 ppi thanks to its 4K resolution (3840 x 2160 pixels).
The new Alienware AW2725Q ‘s maximum refresh rate is 240 Hz, the contrast ratio is 1,500,000:1, the response time is 0.03 ms (gray to gray), the color depth is 10 bits, and the brightness is 250 cd/m² (SDR, 100 percent APL) or 1,000 cd/m² (HDR, 3 percent APL). It also boasts 99 percent DCI-P3, a Delta-E value of less than 2, and a typical power consumption of 31.1 watts.
When it comes to features, the DP 1.4 4K 240Hz gaming monitor includes FreeSync Premium Pro and G-Sync compatibility. Additionally, it supports DisplayHDR True Black 400 and Dolby Vision. Moreover, it offers picture-in-picture and picture-by-picture modes for enhanced multitasking. As for connectivity, the monitor provides two HDMI 2.1 inputs—one of which supports eARC and Dolby Atmos passthrough—along with a DisplayPort 1.4. It also features a USB 3.0 hub, a headphone jack, and a USB-C port with 15W PD.
Its ergonomics leave little to be desired, as it offers tilt, swivel, and height adjustment (up to 110 mm). Additionally, it includes a pivot function, a VESA mount (100 x 100 mm), and blue light filtering for added comfort. Moreover, it weighs 4.3 kg without the stand.
