Akai MPC Live II Standalone Music Production Desk With Built-in Battery, 7-inch Touchscreen

With the MPC Live II, Akai Professional is expanding its current portfolio with the release of the Standalone Music Production desk – Akai MPC Live II with an integrated sampler, sequencer, 7-inch touchscreen display, 16 velocity-sensitive RGB-backlit pads, and 4 endless encoder “Q-Link” controls.

This year, Akai Professional has not yet introduced any high-end tool MPC studio, except the MPC One entry-level standalone music production box (priced at $699 on Bhphotovideo), but has made its debut with the MPC Live II. It is a standalone Music Production desk that is required for any computer and can also be powered via the internal Lithium-ion battery for up to six hours or by the included power adapter.

The MPC Live II offers built-in monitors, so you don’t even need headphones if you wish to be free of them. This is the first MPC with live monitoring built right into the device, it has a dual tweeter-woofer system that plays your music back in stereo and allows you to hear every detail of your creation.

It features four stereo 3.5mm TRS CV/Gate connectors are there for interfacing with your favorite analog synthesizers, drum machines, and Eurorack modules. The new MPC software 2.0 has been updated for full MIDI Multi control, providing command over all your studio equipment. Simultaneously connect and route all the MIDI gear in your studio, including class-compliant USB Keyboards, MIDI interfaces, and USB-to-CV modules.

Akai MPC Live II offers easy sequencing, sample slicing, and a panoply of effects. Now, it also offers full Wi-Fi integration, as well as Bluetooth, CV/Gate outputs, and MIDI-Multi capability. Fuse this with deep internal MIDI routing capability across tracks, comprehensive MIDI routing to any MIDI-compatible synthesizer, drum machine or sound module, and even multitrack recording capability.

It is powered by the quad-core ARM Cortex processor, 2GB of RAM, and 16GB of storage. It can operate in Control Mode, which further expands the functionality by connecting to a computer to operate the same MPC 2.0 standalone software as a plugin in your favorite DAW.

It also comes pre-mapped to Ableton Live, so you can perform with the MPC Live II instantly. Launch clips, work the mixer and execute macro operations wirelessly over Wi-Fi or via an Ethernet connection using a USB-to-Ethernet adapter. It features 16GB of internal MicroSD storage, includes a built-in SD card slot, and has a 2.5″ SATA drive bay for adding your own SSD or HHD drive for immediate access to your own sample libraries.
