Asus ZenWiFi AX Hybrid (XP4) AiMesh Router unveiled

Asus announced a new AiMesh router, the Asus ZenWiFi AX Hybrid (XP4). The new WiFi 6 Mesh will be available individually and also in a set consisting of two devices. It is a hybrid router that is advertised as a solution for thick-walled environments using WiFi and powerline technology. According to Asus, you can use it to cover a living area of up to 510 square meters with sufficient WiFi reception.

A special highlight of this Asus Mesh WiFi is the WiFi 6 (802.11ax) support. That allows a bandwidth of up to 1,800 Mbit/s to be achieved and enables wireless streaming of content in 8K. Basically, this is a feature worth mentioning, but it is also standard in many other routers.

In terms of security, the Asus WiFi router is powered by two ASUS proprietary technologies, AiProtection Pro and ASUS Instant Guard. Both technologies offer a very high level of protection for the connected devices with several functions.

Other features that the ZenWiFi AX Hybrid (XP4) router has in common with others are the TWT function (Target Wake Time Technology, helps to reduce power consumption), Alexa compatibility, guest WiFi, and much more. The special feature is and remains the hybrid mode of operation of the router.

However, customers will decide in favor of this product mainly because of the high Internet coverage. In many residential buildings in which the living area extends over several floors, a powerline with WLAN is simply the better solution if you cannot or do not necessarily want to lay new data cables. The Internet signal is thus routed via the house’s electrical wiring and is available at normal sockets with the help of another device or adapter. Combined with WiFi, the house is supplied with a sufficiently good internet connection. In addition, the router can also run in the mesh system to ensure good, consistent transmission quality.

Asus ZenWiFi AX Hybrid (XP4) price and availability

Asus ZenWiFi AX Hybrid (XP4) AiMesh router costs $329.99 for two packs and is already listed on the Amazon.com and Newegg.com websites.

Last year, Asus introduced a powerful best gaming router that supports the simultaneous connection of a large number of gadgets. The Asus TUF Gaming AX5400 WiFi 6 router is aimed at gamers, but due to the high connection speed, it can easily cope with any other tasks of deploying a home or work network.
