Acer has upgraded one of its most notable ultra-light notebooks to the Ryzen 8000 series. The Acer Swift Edge 16 SFE16-44 packs AMD Ryzen 7 8840U and a 16-inch 120 Hz OLED display into a 1.23-kilogram case.
The Acer Swift Edge 16, initially announced in May 2023, is now receiving an upgrade. The ultra-light notebook will transition from the Ryzen 7 7840U to the newer Ryzen 7 8840U processor. This change doesn’t significantly impact performance, and the integrated AMD Radeon 780M remains unchanged. Most importantly, it promises enhanced AI performance.
The Acer Swift Edge 16 SFE16-44, powered by AMD Ryzen AI, features a dedicated AI engine that enhances AI performance by up to 60%. Combined with Acer’s AI solutions, this device is designed to deliver more intuitive and enjoyable AI experiences, paving the way for the future.

The 1440p QHD webcam with a privacy shutter includes Acer PurifiedVoice with AI Noise Reduction. Acer PurifiedView integrates three key features: Background Blur, Automatic Framing, and Gaze Correction. Additionally, it uses advanced AI algorithms. These technologies enhance your appearance during e-meetings, live streaming, and video calls.
Little has changed in terms of the design or the other features. Acer has once again packed a 16-inch 16:10 OLED display with a resolution of 3,200 x 2,000 pixels into the 1.23-kilogram, 1.3-centimeter-thin case. The display also features a frame rate of 120 Hz and a brightness of 500 nits.

The new Acer Swift Edge 16 (SFE16-44) is available from Amazon.com for a recommended retail price starting at $1,225.
The Acer AI PC boasts up to 32 GB of LPDDR5 RAM and, furthermore, offers a PCIe 4.0 SSD with up to 2 TB of storage. Additionally, it supports Wi-Fi 7 connectivity. In terms of power, the 54Wh battery charges via USB-C at up to 65 watts. Moreover, the laptop includes two USB 4 ports, providing data transfer rates of up to 40 Gbps.
Previously, we reviewed the Acer Swift Go 14 AI ultrabook, which has many new artificial intelligence features.
