Acer Projectors at CES 2018: V6820M and V6820i With Ultra HD and Amazon Alexa

Acer at CES 2018 has announced the new Ultra HD V6820M and V6820i projectors. Both new Acer projectors are also among the first of its kind to support Amazon Alexa digital assistant.

Unfortunately, Acer has not shown technical specifications, even if not mentioned, is definitely DLP, probably with the new DLP470TE chip. It should be equipped with XPR (Expanded Pixel Resolution) technology, able to take advantage of the very high switching speed of DLPs to recreate a greater number of pixels (2 or 4 times more depending on the chip in use).

Both Acer projectors support HDR10 and Rec. 2020 signal, in addition to HD sources. Compatibility with 3D is also ensured. There is Alexa assistant, so user can control various functions simply by using their own voice. After enabling the Acer Projector Smart Home skill by asking Alexa on a device like the Echo or compatible Acer PC, “Alexa, turn on the projector,” “Alexa, select HDMI as the projector source,” or “Alexa, change projector display mode to bright.”

The V6820M and V6820i projectors also include the AcuMotion technology, a solution that makes images smoother through frame interpolation. The noise level is 19dBA (most in silent mode). Prices and availability will be announced soon.
