Acer Nitro 5: Value for money gamer gets a fresh design with Intel Alder Lake

The Acer Nitro 5 gaming laptop has always represented great value for money, and the latest model doesn’t change that. Acer Nitro 5 2022 models now install either the brand new Intel Tiger Lake-H or AMD Ryzen 6000 processors and a 165 Hz 1,440p display in 15 or 17 inches.

The latest generation of the Acer Nitro 5 laptop has been given a slightly modernized design, which should also offer advantages apart from the optics – two fans and a total of six ventilation openings should ensure better cooling of the processor and graphics chip, which means that the Nvidia GeForce RTX 3070 Ti in the top model has a TGP of up to 150 watts can be operated.

For this, Acer installs either a 12th generation Intel Core i7 (Alder Lake) or an AMD Ryzen 6000 processor – Acer has not yet confirmed details of which chips are installed. Interestingly, the Intel chip is paired with up to 32GB of DDR4-3200 RAM, while the AMD Ryzen model ships with faster DDR5-4800 RAM. Two M.2 slots, which are connected via PCIe 4.0 in the Intel model, allow the gaming notebook to be equipped with masses of memory.

Acer has confirmed that at least in the AMD model only one of the two SSDs is connected via PCIe 4.0, the other via PCIe 3.0. The Acer Nitro 5 is available with either a 15 or 17-inch display; the manufacturer offers both a 144 Hz 1080p display and a 165 Hz 1440p display.

All Acer Nitro 5 2022 models have an HDMI 2.1 connection and several USB ports. As usual, Thunderbolt 4 (USB-C) is only available in conjunction with an Intel processor; the AMD version has a USB 4 port instead.

The Acer Nitro 5 2022 with Intel processor is now available to pre-order in the country and will be released on May 22, 2022.
