Acer Chromebook 514 is official at the IFA 2018 in Berlin. It is an elegant and well-finished laptop, with a full metal body, backlit keyboard and a glass-covered touchpad (Corning Gorilla Glass).
The footprint is reduced thanks to the thin edges (6 mm) around the display, which is 14 inches with FHD resolution and IPS technology. The touchscreen display will be optional.
Acer Chromebook 514 promises up to 12 hours of battery life, in addition to the ChromeOS operating system of Google as usual guarantees very fast performance. The webcam is HDR, among the ports, stand out with the USB 3.1 Type-C, one of which is also able to recharge the battery.
Unfortunately, release date and key features are missing to understand the positioning of the laptop, in particular on which processor will mount. We will know more with the approach of availability, which is scheduled for October 2018. The price for the basic configuration will be $449.99.
