With the Acer Aspire Vero 16 (AV16-51P), the manufacturer says it is bringing a particularly sustainable notebook onto the market. It uses both recycled materials and highly energy-efficient Intel Core Ultra processors.
Acer presented the new Aspire Vero 16 (AV16-51P) at CES 2024, which is now available for purchase online. This expands the renowned Aspire Vero series, known for its environmentally friendly notebooks. With this product range, the manufacturer aims to minimize the carbon footprint throughout its entire life cycle.
The new Acer Aspire Vero 16 (AV16-51P) is designed to minimize emissions at every stage, including manufacturing, packaging, and recycling at the end of its lifecycle. This approach aims to deliver a highly sustainable notebook to the market.
For instance, the new laptop’s casing is made of over 60 percent recycled plastic, double that of the first generation. The manufacturer states that the surface contains no volatile organic compounds, colors, or additives. Additionally, the touchpad features Ocean Bound Plastic (OBP) as its surface material.
The device comes in a box made entirely from 100% recycled and FSC-certified paper. To further reduce emissions, transportation uses biofuels on various routes.
Standard screws provide easy access for disassembly, allowing for repair, upgrades, or recycling. The latest Intel Core Ultra processors, installed in the device, promise lower power consumption compared to previous generations.
Additionally, Acer states that Intel AI Boost integration enables energy-efficient use of AI functions. The AcerSense battery management software offers four modes—Eco+, Eco, Balanced, and Performance—for further energy savings.
