7Artisans launches Photoelectric 35mm F2 Mark II lens for Leica M

The 7Artisans has introduced the Photoelectric 35mm F2 Mark II full-frame manual lens for the Leica M.

The optical design of the lens consists of 8 elements in 7 groups. The lens has a compact metal body and covers a full-frame sensor. The minimum focusing distance is only 70 centimeters, and its weight is 232 grams.

Its viewing angle is 63 degrees, and the installation diameter for filters is 55 mm. The 7artisans 35mm f2 Mark II lens has a compact form factor, a wide-angle focal length, and an updated optical design.

The versatile wide angle of view pairs nicely with the bright f/2 maximum aperture for depth-of-field control and low-light performance, and the lens features improved optics providing increased sharpness, contrast, and flare resistance.

Additionally, this lens’s manual focusing design affords a 2.3′ minimum focusing distance and a 10-blade diaphragm that contributes to a pleasing bokeh quality.

TTArtisan recently introduced the “Limited Edition” series of the TTArtisan M 28mm f5.6 Titanium and Golden lenses for the Leica M-mount. It is a rather miniature retro lens with a height of 19 mm and a weight of only 151 g. It looks good on camera, but it’s quite doubtful that Leica owners will suddenly run after it to buy this lens, even if they’re pretty.
