MSI MAG321QR-QD 32-inch gaming monitor with 170Hz, HDR, and USB Hub

MSI introduced the MAG321QR-QD, a 32-inch 1440p monitor with HDR that also features a 170Hz refresh rate. Offered with a USB hub, the MAG321QR-QD supports MSI’s new console mode and is VESA DisplayHDR 400 certified.

MSI has announced the MAG321QR-QD, the best 1440p widescreen monitor in the company’s QD series. Touted as “the new 1440p gaming powerhouse,” the MAG321QR-QD features a 31.5-inch IPS panel, which MSI rounds up to 32 inches. According to MSI, the flat screen runs at 2,560 x 1,440 pixels (WQHD) with an aspect ratio of 16:9 and a refresh rate of 170 Hz. It can be assumed that the MAG321QR-QD works by default at 165 Hz.

In addition, a refresh rate of 170 Hz is only possible if the monitor is connected via DisplayPort. For reference, MSI equips the MAG321QR-QD with a DisplayPort 1.2a connection and a USB Type-C port that supports DisplayPort Alt Mode. Unfortunately, the monitor’s HDMI 2.0b ports limit gaming over HDMI to 144Hz at 1440p.

The MAG321QR-QD 32-inch 1440p monitor with HDR is also VESA DisplayHDR 400 certified, meaning it delivers up to 400 nits of peak HDR brightness or 350 nits when viewing SDR content. Additionally, the monitor features a 1200:1 contrast ratio with 1ms response times (MPRT) and 97% DCI-P3 color space coverage.

The MAG321QR-QD also supports NVIDIA G-SYNC to minimize image tearing while gaming, as well as an adjustable stand and VESA mounts.
