Zeiss Loxia 85mm f2.4 Lens for Sony E Mount Cameras has been officially announced ahead of Photokina event will take place in Germany next week. Zeiss added a new member of its Loxia line up in the tele range, and is particularly well suited for portrait photography.
It comes with a manual focus ring Sony E mount with a rotation angle of 220 degrees enables the subtlest variations of focusing. The large aperture of f/2.4 combined with the high-quality optical design which is good support for bokeh. The manual aperture ring can be mechanically ‘de-clicked’ for smooth, silent rotation throughout the aperture range; making it ideal for video applications.
The Loxia 85mm f2.4 lens is designed specifically for full-frame E-mount mirrorless cameras, however, can also be used on APS-C models where it will provide a 127.5mm equivalent focal length. Along with Zeiss T anti-reflective coatings to help minimize reflections in order to provide greater image clarity, contrast and color fidelity. Additionally, a weather-resistant gasket is featured at the lens mount to protect the lens-camera interface from dust and moisture.
Zeiss Loxia 85mm f2.4 Lens is priced at $1,399 and can be pre-ordered via B&H Photo store, and start shipping by the end of the year in early December.
