Yamaha announced the YAS-207 Soundbar, a model with 2.1 channels. The central body measuring 930 x 60 x 108 mm and is accompanied by an 180 x 437 x 401 mm wireless subwoofer. The Yamaha YAS-207 Soundbar features four sub-woofers and two tweeters. The frequency range from 180Hz to 23kHz for sub-woofer and 7.23kHz for tweeters. The subwoofer uses a 16cm cone. The output power is equal to 100W for the central body and other 100W for the subwoofer.
The YAS-207 is the world’s first soundbar to support DTS Virtual:X, a technology developed by DTS for Virtual surround. We talk about a system for 2.1 channels, effectively recreate 3D surround sound, simulating sound effects that move around and even above the listener. DTS Virtual:X is designed to deliver the most convincing envelopment from content designed in object-based immersive formats, such as DTS:X or Dolby Atmos, it also works with any multichannel or stereo content. However, it will be available via a firmware update in August 2017.
Supported formats include Dolby Digital, Dolby Pro Logic II and DTS Digital Surround. Connectivity options include Bluetooth 4.1 with EDR and A2DP. The wireless connection can also be used to control the soundbar, you can download the Home Theater Controller app for iOS and Android devices. To connect other sources it comes with HDMI 2.0a input with HDCP 2.2, along with the ARC (audio return channel) output, the digital optical input or an analog audio input on a 3.5 mm jack.
