Xiaomi launched its new selfie-focussed smartphone series, including Redmi Y1 as well as Redmi Y1 Lite in India. The highlight of the Xiaomi Redmi Y1 Lite smartphone is its 13-megapixel rear camera, 5.5-inch HD display, and Android 7.1.1 Nougat. Alongside the new devices, the company also announced the availability of the MIUI 9 Global Stable update.

The Xiaomi Redmi Y1 Lite features a 5.5-inch IPS LCD display with HD (720 x 1280 pixels) resolution with 450 nits brightness, 1000: 1 Contrast ratio, 70% NTSC color gamut, and Corning Gorilla Glass protection. The device has a metal frame design and metal housing. It is powered by a 1.4 GHz quad-core processor which supported by Snapdragon 425 SoC Coupled with Adreno 308 GPU. It packs 2GB of RAM and 16GB of inbuilt storage which can be expanded via microSD card up to 128GB.
The Redmi Y1 Lite bears a 13-megapixel primary autofocus camera with f/2.2 aperture, PDAF, and LED flash. It has a 5-megapixel front-facing camera with f/2.0 aperture and wide-angle lens for selfie and video calling.
The handset runs on Android 7.1.1 Nougat with MIUI 8, but also upgradable to MIUI 9 soon. It packs a 3080mAh battery and supports dual SIM slot with dual standby, For connectivity includes 4G VoLTE, 3G, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, GPS, A-GPS, Bluetooth 4.2, micro USB 2.0 and 3.5 mm audio jack options. It measures 153 x 76.2 x 7.55 mm and weighs 150 grams.
