Xiaomi launched its new selfie-focussed smartphone series, including Redmi Y1 as well as Redmi Y1 Lite in India. The highlight of the Xiaomi Redmi Y1 Lite smartphone is its 13-megapixel rear camera, 5.5-inch HD display, and Android 7.1.1 Nougat. Alongside the new devices, the company also announced the availability of the MIUI 9 Global Stable update.

The Xiaomi Redmi Y1 Lite features a 5.5-inch IPS LCD display with HD (720 x 1280 pixels) resolution with 450 nits brightness, 1000: 1 Contrast ratio, 70% NTSC color gamut, and Corning Gorilla Glass protection. The device has a metal frame design and metal housing. It is powered by a 1.4 GHz quad-core processor which supported by Snapdragon 425 SoC Coupled with Adreno 308 GPU. It packs 2GB of RAM and 16GB of inbuilt storage which can be expanded via microSD card up to 128GB.
