Xiaomi Redmi 4A has been announced in India today on Monday. It is the most affordable smartphone in the new Redmi 4 series, and is available in Gold and Rose Gold and Grey color options. The Xiaomi Redmi 4A price in India is set to Rs. 5,999 – approximately $91 and will go on sale starting from 23rd March via Amazon India store.

The Xiaomi Redmi 4A features a 5.0-inch IPS LCD display with HD (1280 x 720 pixels) resolution that can translate a pixel density of 294ppi, 1000:1 contrast ratio, a screen-to-body ratio of 70.2% and 72% NTSC color gamut. It is powered by a 1.4GHz quad-core 64-bit processor that’s backed by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 425 (MSM8917) SoC clubbed with Adreno 308 500MHz GPU. It packs in 2GB of RAM along with 16GB of internal storage, which can be further expanded up to 128GB via microSD card.
On the camera front, the Redmi 4A flaunts a 13-megapixel primary camera with f/2.2 aperture, Phase Detection Auto Focus (PDAF), dual-tone LED flash, and also able to record Full HD 1080p videos at 30fps. There is a 5-megapixel front-facing camera with f/2.2 aperture to capture wide selfies and video chatting. The front can also shoot 1080p Full HD videos. It comes with an Infrared sensor, but the fingerprint sensor is missing.
The device runs on MIUI 8 based on Android 6.0 Marshmallow OS and packs in 3120mAh battery which company claimed to provide standby time up to 7 days. It supports Hybrid dual SIM (micro + nano/microSD), where the second SIM slot can be used as a microSD card slot
On the connectivity front, the Redmi 4A includes 4G VoLTE, 3G HSPA+, WiFi 802.11 b/g/n, GPS, GLONASS, Bluetooth 4.1, USB 2.0 with OTG, and 3.5 mm audio jack. The smartphone measures 139.5 x 70.4 x 8.5 mm, and weighs 131.5 grams.
