Xiaomi Redmi 4 Standard, Pro, and Redmi 4A with 4G VoLTE Launched

Xiaomi has unveiled its long-awaited budget line smartphone series with 5-inch display – Redmi 4. This new Xiaomi smartphone is available in two versions – the standard version and Pro version along with Redmi 4A is also a new edition in this Redmi 4 line-up. Key differences between the two versions is applicable chipset, the amount of RAM, the internal memory and display resolution, while the design remains same as successor Redmi Note 4 such as metal housing with curved edges and 2.5D glass protection on top of it. Coming to detailed specs, both variant features a 5.0-inch display with 1000: 1 contrast ratio, 72% NTSC color gamut, but Xiaomi Redmi 4 Standard version has HD (720 x 1280 pixels) resolution, and is powered by an octa-Core Qualcomm Snapdragon 430 (4 x 1.2 GHz Cortex A53 + 4 x 1.5 GHz Cortex A53) 64-bit processor with Adreno 505 GPU clubbed with 2GB of RAM, 16GB internal storage with expandable memory up to 128GB via microSD slot. While the Xiaomi Redmi 4 Pro version with Full HD (1920 x 1080 pixels) resolution, and is powered by a 2.0 GHz Octa-Core Snapdragon 625 14nm processor with Adreno 506 GPU, paired with 3GB of RAM, 32GB internal storage which can be expandable up to 128GB via microSD card.

Both smartphones run on MIUI 8 based on Android 6.0 (Marshmallow), come with hybrid dual SIM support and packs a 4100mAh battery. For optics, both devices flaunt a 13-megapixel primary autofocus camera with f/2.2 aperture, PDAF, dual-tone LED Flash, and 1080p video recording. Both have a 5-megapixel front-facing camera with f/2.2 aperture to capture wide angle selfie. For connectivity front, both handsets include 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.1, GPS + GLONASS, microUSB 2.0 and 3.5mm audio jack.

Xiaomi Redmi 4 Price & Availability

The Redmi 4 Standard variant has been priced at 699 yuan – approximately $103 or 6,900 INR, while the Redmi 4 Pro model will cost 899 yuan – approximately $133 or 8,880. Both come in Silver, Grey and Gold color options, and will go on sale in China starting from 11, November.

On the other hand the Xiaomi Redmi 4A, one of the affordable 4G VoLTE smartphone from the company also announced, priced at 499 yuan – approximately $74 or 4,930 INR. It will come in  Gold and Rose Gold color variants and will be available for purchase in China from November 11th.

The Xiaomi Redmi 4A features a 5.0-inch IPS LCD display with HD resolution of 720 x 1280 pixels, it is powered by a 1.4 GHz quad-core processor that’s backed by a Snapdragon 425 SoC along with Adreno 308 GPU. It packs in 2GB of RAM, 16GB of internal memory, which can be expanded via microSD card up to 128GB. Xiaomi Redmi 4A

The Redmi 4A bears a 13-megapixel primary autofocus camera with f/2.2 aperture, PDAF, LED Flash, can be record 1080p video at 30fps, and a 5-megapixel selfie camera. It runs on Android 6.0 Marshmallow with MIUI 8 and packs a 3030mAh battery out of the box. It supports hybrid Dual SIM functionality along with 4G VoLTE, 3G, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n/, GPS, A-GPS, Bluetooth 4.0, Mirco USB 2.0, 3.5 mm audio jack and FM Radio connectivity options.
