Xiaomi India has launched two smartphones in India, the Xiaomi Redmi 3S and Xiaomi Redmi 3S Prime. Both smartphones are announced under Made in India initiation. Both the Xiaomi smartphones will be available exclusively via Flipkart and Mi store in India.
The Xiaomi Redmi 3S is priced at Rs. 6,999, while the Xiaomi Redmi 3S Prime is priced at Rs. 8,999. While the company has mentioned that the Redmi 3S Prime will go on sale from 9th August and Redmi 3S will one week later.
The Xiaomi Redmi 3S Prime features a 5.0-inch IPS display with HD (720 x 1280 pixels) resolutions and is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 430 (4 x 1.2 GHz Cortex A53 + 4 x 1.5 GHz Cortex A53) 64-bit octa-core processor clubbed with Adreno 505 GPU. It comes with 3GB of RAM and a 32GB of inbuilt storage which can be expanded via microSD card up to 128GB.
On the camera front, the Xiaomi 3S Prime flaunts a 13-megapixel primary camera with f/2.0 aperture, PDAF, LED flash and it can shoot full HD 1080p videos at 30 fps. There is a 5-megapixel front-facing camera with f/2.2 aperture and wide-angle lens to capture self portraits and video calling. Front camera also records 1080p videos. The device comes equipped with a fingerprint sensor placed on the rear panel to unlock the device quickly.
The Red MI 3S Prime Phone runs on Android 6.0 Marshmallow out of the box. It packs a 4100mAh battery that is claimed to deliver standby time up to 450 hours and talk time of up to 33 hours. It supports hybrid SIM slot with dual standby, For connectivity, MI Mobile Phone includes 4G LTE, 3G, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, GPS, A-GPS, Bluetooth 4.1, microUSB 2.0 and 3.5 mm audio jack options. It measures 139.3 x 69.6 x 8.5 mm and weighs around 144 grams.
Meanwhile the Xiaomi Redmi 3S India model specs are similar to the Redmi 3S Prime, except 2GB of RAM with 16GB of native storage with an external
microSD card up to 128GB.
