Xiaomi Redmi 3 with 4100mAh Battery and Octa-core SoC Officially Launched

Xiaomi Redmi 3 has been officially launched in China, the handset is available in Silver, Grey and Gold color variants and has been priced at 699 Yuan – approximately $106. It will be sold via  Mi.com or Tmall in China starting from tomorrow 12th January. As teased by the company, the Redmi 3 features an all-metal body and sports a textured rear panel with a design that is said to be inspired by “the stars in the night sky.”

The Xiaomi Redmi 3 features a 5.0-inch IPS display with HD resolution of 720 x 1280 pixels. It is powered by 1.2Ghz quad-core processor that can be backed by a 64-bit Qualcomm Snapdragon 616 chipset along with Adreno 405 GPU. It has 2GB of LPDDR3 RAM and comes with 32GB and 64GB of internal memory which can also be expanded up to 128GB with the help of microSD card.

As for the more Xiaomi Redmi 3 specifications, it comes with a 13-megapixel primary autofocus camera on the back with f/2.0 aperture, Phase Detection Auto Focus (PDAF) with 0.1 second focusing time and LED flash. It can shoot Full HD 1080p videos. On front, it has a 5-megapixel front-facing camera for selfies and video chatting. This Xiaomi Phone has a unibody metal build with textured back cover panel which also help users for better grip and long speaker grille at the below makes it different from the other Xiaomi devices. The handset measures 139 x 69.9 x 8.5 mm and weighs 143 grams.

The Xiaomi Redmi 3 probably runs on Android 5.1 Lollipop OS based on MIUI 7 out of the box. It supports hybrid dual SIM with dual standby mode and the most notable point in the device that packs a 4100mAh non removable battery with fast charging technology. On connectivity front, Redmi 3 includes 4G LTE, 3G, WiFi 802.11 b/g/n, GPS, A-GPS, Bluetooth 4.0, micro USB 2.0, OTG and 3.5mm audio jack options.
