Xiaomi Mi8 Pro With 6.21-inch AMOLED Display, In-display Fingerprint Sensor Launched

Along with the Mi8 Lite, Xiaomi also announced the Mi8 Pro smartphone in China. The new midrange of the Chinese manufacturer is in fact introduced with a very respectable technical data sheet in which stands the presence of the powerful Snapdragon 845 platform and in-display fingerprint sensor.

Xiaomi Mi8 Pro price in China has been started from CNY 3199 – approximately $466 for the 6GB RAM with 128GB storage and the CNY 3599 – approximately $525 for the 8GB RAM with 128GB storage model. It is available for order today and goes on sale in China from September 21, 2018. The handset comes in Sunset Gold, Black and Transparent Titanium color options.

The Xiaomi Mi8 Pro features a 6.21-inch AMOLED display with Full HD+ (2248 x 1080 pixels) resolution, 18:7:9 aspect ratio, 60000:1 contrast ratio and DCI-P3 color gamut. It comes in Gradient versions with glass back as well as Transparent Titanium version, similar to the Mi 8 Explorer Edition. It is powered by a 2.8GHz octa-core processor which supported by Snapdragon 845 10nm Mobile Platform with Adreno 630 GPU and 6GB / 8GB of LPDDR4X RAM. It packs a 128GB of (UFS 2.1) inbuilt storage.

On the camera front, the Mi8 Pro bears a dual rear camera setup: a 12-megapixel rear camera with 26mm wide-angle lens, 1/2.6″ Sony IMX363 sensor, f/1.8 aperture, 1.4µm pixel size, dual-tone LED flash, 4-axis OIS, Optical zoom, 4K video recording along with a 12-megapixel secondary camera with Samsung S5K3M3 sensor, f/2.4 aperture, 1.0µm pixel size, and 2X zoom.

The Xiaomi Mi8 Pro has a pressure-sensitive in-display fingerprint sensor. This only activates the unlocking process once you place your finger on the screen, which is faster and more power-efficient and is 29% faster compared to the in-display fingerprint sensor on the Mi 8.

The handset runs on Android 8.1 Oreo-based on MIUI out of the box. It packs a 3000mAh battery with Qualcomm Quick Charge 4+. It supports Dual SIM slot with dual standby and for connectivity includes 4G VoLTE, 3G, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n/ac 2×2 MU-MIMO, GPS, GLONASS, Bluetooth 5 LE, and USB C. The device measures 154.9×74.8×7.6mm and weighs 177 grams.
