Alongside the Redmi Note 3, Xiaomi has officially launched the Mi Pad 2 Tablet at an event in the China, National Convention Center. It was confirmed yesterday by the company as well. There are two variants of the Xiaomi Mi Pad 2 such as 16GB variant has been priced at CNY 999 – approximately $156 or Rs. 10,300 and the 64GB priced at CNY 1,299 – approximately $203 or Rs. 13,500.
The company additionally touted that the Mi Pad 2 variant running Windows 10 OS alongside the Android-based MIUI 7 variant. The Android variant will be available for purchase in China this month, while the Windows 10 variant will hit shelves in December.
Talking about the Xiaomi Mi Pad 2 specifications, it features a 7.9-inch IPS display with 2048×1536 pixels resolution that can rated to translate a pixel density of 326ppi. The Xiaomi Tablet accompanies IPS display, which enhances screen readability and sharpness. It is fueled by a 64-bit Intel Atom X5-Z8500 quad-core processor clocked at 2.2GHz (2MB cache, 4 cores, 4 threads) that teamed with Intel HD GPU and 2GB of RAM.
The Mi Pad 2 flaunts an 8-megapixel rear camera with LED LED flash and wide f/2.0 aperture. It comes equipped with a 5-megapixel wide-angle front shooter to capture wide group selfies and comfortable video conversing. It packs 16GB/64 GB of internal storage as mentioned above.
The Tablet runs on Android 5.1 Lollipop-based MiUi 7 and packs a 6190mAh long lasting battery out of the box. According to the company, the enormous battery can be able to deliver standby time up to 648.8 hours. It measures 200.4×132.6×6.95mm and weighs only 322 grams, which touted that the device is 18% thinner than the older Xiaomi MiPad Tablet (8.5mm), in spite of a larger battery.
