Xiaomi Mi Band 4 Unboxing and First Impressions

Xiaomi announced the Mi Band 4 at a special event in China earlier this month. And right now, we have an opportunity to hold Xiaomi Mi Band 4, let’s see if something special in this very attractive bracelet or is it worth it or not! Xiaomi has made a name for itself in the fitness wearables area with its affordable Mi Band series.

The Mi Band 4’s box is designed quite brightly and is divided into two black and white colors. The product image is prominently printed on the front and stylized number 4, referring that this is the 4th generation smart wearable version.

The box is quite simple from the inside, it includes a User manual, charger, and the main device is the MI band 4 with strap. As such, the manufacturer has provided an accessory similar to the previous version of Mi Band 3.

Looking at the overall design, we can see that the Mi Band 4 display is 0.95 inches larger than the 0.78 inches on Mi Band 3, more interesting than this is an AMOLED color display.

This is something that many of you are waiting for is a color display on Band 4 with a 240 x 120 pixels resolution to make the image sharper. The colors are shown honestly, neither too bold nor too light. Screen brightness is also significantly improved, makes it easier to see in heavy sunlight.

With the equipped color screen, the manufacturer also integrates a lot of watch faces (up to 77 watch faces) with diverse designs to help users avoid being bored after a long time of use.

The strap that comes with Mi Band 4 is made of out of thermoplastic elastomer which latches securely onto your hand, exactly the same as Mi Band 3, designed on the same product. It can be said that this is a slight upgrade, to increase the user experience rather than create a breakthrough.

The back of the Mi Band 4 is the heart rate sensor and charging plug. Unfortunately, Xiaomi has not improved the way to charge this device. Users still have to struggle to charge the Mi Band 4, you will need to remove the capsule from the band and use its proprietary charging cable with any computer or USB adapter.

There is a lot of trouble in charging, so has become the biggest cons of this product. Hopefully, in later versions, Xiaomi will pay more attention to these issues as it affects a lot of user experience.

Mi Band 4 also supports many different physical activities, such as running, cycling, walking, exercise, and swimming. The device features six-axis accelerometer and also 5 ATM rated and is designed to identify various swimming strokes, namely freestyle, breaststroke, backstroke, butterfly, and mixed-style. Also, it offers wolf score to help users determine their swimming skills.

Some of the basic features are often on a smart fitness band such as suggestions for practice mode, heart-rate monitoring, calls, messages and other notifications from smartphones are available on Mi Band 4.

It can also be used to find the phone or switch the music track with one tap: pause, play or skip tracks is what Mi Band 4 can do, which means you can use this product to control music playback on smartphones. This is a feature that we basically cheers, whenever we use it, do not have to struggle to unlock the phone over and over again.

As mentioned above, the 5ATM waterproof standard is available on this product, which means you can freely in the rain, go swimming or even you can dive into the 50-meter depth of water without fear of any damage.

The Xiaomi Mi Band 4 is in our hands, it is an international version and it is being sold on Amazon.com. The price of this wearable on the shelf is $39.99, a very good price, right?
