Xiaomi launches Black Shark 2 Pro With 6.39-inch HDR Display, Snapdragon 855 Plus, 12GB RAM

Xiaomi has expanded its Black Shark gaming smartphone series with the launch of the Black Shark 2 Pro in China. It is an upgraded version of the Xiaomi Black Shark 2 was launched back in March this year. It is now powered by the latest Snapdragon 855 Plus SoC, UFS3.0 storage, 6.39-inch FHD+ AMOLED display, and liquid cooling 3.0 technology.

Black Shark 2 Pro Price and Availability

The Xiaomi Black Shark 2 Pro price in China starts from CNY 2,999 – approximately $435 for the 12GB RAM with 128GB storage version, and the 12GB RAM with 256GB storage version costs CNY 3,499 – approximately $508. It will be available for order in China starting today and will go on sale in China from August 2nd. It comes in Electric black, Ice ash, Blue, Orange, and Purple color options.

Black Shark 2 Pro Specifications

The Xiaomi Black Shark 2 Pro features a 6.39-inch AMOLED HDR display, Full HD+ (2340 × 1080 pixels) resolution, 19.5:9 aspect ratio, 108.9% DCI – P3 color gamut, 430 nits brightness, touch response speed of 34.7ms with touch algorithm optimization especially for gaming, and includes a dedicated DC dimming 2.0. It is powered by a 2.96 GHz octa-core processor which supported by Snapdragon 855 Plus 7nm Mobile Platform with 675MHz Adreno 640 GPU and 12GB LPDDR4x RAM with 128GB / 256GB (UFS 3.0) storage.

The device comes with liquid cooling 3.0 promises improved cooling with a liquid-cooled plate and liquid-cooled tube to reduce the CPU’s core temperature. It has a new design language on the back inspired by the F1 car and a new lighting effect.

On the camera front, the device bears a 48-megapixel rear camera with 1/2.0″ Samsung IMX586 sensor, 0.8μm pixel size, f/1.75 aperture, LED flash, 12MP 1/3.6″ Samsung S5K3M5 sensor, a telephoto lens with f/2.2 aperture, 1.0μm pixel size, 6P lens, and 2x lossless zoom. For selfie, there is a 20-megapixel front-facing camera with 0.9μm pixel size and f/2.0 aperture.

The Xiaomi gaming smartphone has an in-display fingerprint scanner, runs on Android 9.0 Pie and packs a 4000mAh battery with 27W fast charging that offers 30 minutes of gaming with just 5 minutes of charging. It supports dual SIM slot with dual standby, and for connectivity includes Dual 4G VoLTE, WiFi 802.11ac dual-band (2×2 MU-MIMO), Bluetooth 5, GPS, GLONASS, Beidou, and USB Type-C. The device measures 163.61×75.01x 8.77mm and weighs 205 grams.
